Rain drummed on the taxi roof, smearing the neon into colour blurs. Kai stepped out onto wet asphalt and looked up — forty storeys of dark glass, one lit window near the top. Molin's loft. The journalist who'd stopped answering two days ago. The concierge waved Kai through without a word. The elevator crawled. On 39, Kai hit pause and listened. Silence. Only the hum of ventilation. The loft door was ajar. Inside: chaos. Desk drawers overturned, datapad smashed, dried blood on the floor. Kai crossed to the window. On the desk — a crumpled note: «If something happens to me — check Helios Biotech's servers». And a second, handwritten: «Toby knows. Mirror rooftop. After midnight». Two leads. One corporate. One street. Ninety minutes till midnight.
